Tasting - Crane Lake Gewürtztraminer

Name: Crane Lake Gewürtztraminer
Region/Country: California
Year: 2013
Price: $5.95

Winery Review: Slightly high-toned notions of rose petal mingle with lemon on nose and palate of this lightly sweet, richly textured yet balanced Gewürztraminer. This is not as heady as you may expect and will be a treat with spicy Asian dishes. Lychee and rose petal make another very fetching appearance on the finish.

My Review: This wine was very fruity, particularly with a strong scent and taste of grapefruit. There was also a hint of butterscotch on the nose. It was very crisp and refreshing with hints of other fruit components, such as pear, green apple, melon, and pineapple. It was also very smooth in texture, which made it an easy wine to sip on. I would give this wine an 89. I tried this on its own with no food this time, but I would love to pair it with Thai or any spicy Asian cuisine, as suggested.
